I feel that Queer people are underrepresented in magical realms, and if there is a specific Tarot that speaks to people who are Queer – readings might be a little more accurate. Queerness and magick are aligned for me, and I feel like they might for a lot of other queers too. To me the Hermit is a card of deep introspection, time for internal learning and reflection and at the end of that a stronger sense of self. To me the Hermit is a very empowering card, because as a trans-man I’ve had to do a lot of deep introspection. There were a lot of periods of my life where I didn’t have people around me to bounce off, so I turned inward. I’m used to doing that now, so I relate to the hermit in terms of deep introspection and caring for ones’ self – being kind internally. If my younger self pulled The Hermit, I would want them to be reminded that it is okay to turn inward, and that it is not a sign of weakness, in fact it can be a sign of great strength. To just stop, turn inward and reflect on yourself and leave the out-wardness alone, because sometimes that can be quite negative. Build up yourself internally, because that is so important.

Reminder, if you also want to shoot YOUR perspective on a card that has been created you can! I will be producing a tarot deck with multiples of quite a few cards to share different stories and perspectives of our beautiful community
Just because a card has been shot, does not mean we can’t create a second one. If you resonate or connect with a particular card, then I would love to shoot it with you. The final deck may contain multiples of some cards to ensure diverse story telling and inclusion of as broad a spectrum of the Queer community as possible
